Moritaka Mashiro: an average high school student who, despite being bored of following the status quo, decides to do it because he's been expected to. One day, he leaves his notebook at school. And as he goes back, the top student Akito Takagi has it in his hands, going on about how he admires Mashiro's drawing skill. Out of the blue, Takagi asks Mashiro to write manga with him. At first he refuses, until Takagi said he'll confess something to Mashiro's crush, Miho Azuki. He decides to work with him right before Mashiro accidentally proposes to Azuki. Azuki shies away and communicates from inside her house, then says yes; much to Mashiro's and Takagi's surprise. But the condition is they have to fulfill their dreams before that (Azuki wants to be a voice actor). With a new life dream and a future wife, Mashiro isn't going to back down no matter what happens now! The first season of Bakuman. Season 2 is ongoing.
