Kenshin Himura,commonly known as "Hitokiri Battousai" or "Battousai the Slasher", was a wanderer who owns a reverse-edge sword which he claims he uses to protect people and bring peace, rather than killing and starting a war. He was popularly known in the Meiji period as the blood thirsty killer and started offer protection and aid to those in need as atonement for the murders he once committed as an assassin. Gaining friends,both friends and former foes, along the way, he was once again force to fight as the slasher one more time to stop Shishio Makoto who plans on destroying the Meiji Government and create his own one to rule Japan. Unable to finish the battle by himself, he reluctantly let his friends help him to destroy Shishio's plans.
